Travel forms
Family holidays during school terms are not encouraged. School holiday periods provide a considerable amount of time for families to enjoy holidays. Absence during school terms disrupts children’s learning and their social development with friends. All family holidays must be applied for approval in writing to the Principal prior to the holiday. Forms are available from the front office or below stating dates and reasons for holiday.
Swimming
In term Swimming is a school-based swimming program for children from Pre-primary to Year 6. It provides quality swimming lessons across the State to ensure children develop vital swimming and water safety skills.
The Department of Education meets the cost of In term Swimming lessons for all primary students in public schools and for primary students in private schools in rural and remote areas.
Parents and carers need to pay a fee to cover transport and entry costs into the swimming venue. Parents and carers interested in finding out more should contact the school.
In term Swimming lessons operate across the State with the majority of programs conducted at swimming pools and some conducted at beach or open water venues, where possible.
All students will travel to and from the pool with the supervising teachers. Teachers will supervise students on the bus trip and at the pool to maintain Duty of Care. Specialist swimming teachers provide the lessons at the pool.
